At the Green Growth Regional Exchange 2026, organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Manila, the Philippines, on September 14, 2026, Simexco DakLak shared its journey of creating sustainable value — from coffee-growing regions to global markets — while introducing how the company connects farmers, markets, and technology to advance regenerative agriculture, reduce emissions, and develop circular economy models.
Sustainable Development Requires a Whole Ecosystem to Act Together
During the discussion session, Simexco emphasized that building a sustainable supply chain cannot be achieved by any single stakeholder alone. From 4C-EUDR compliance to gradually aligning with international ESG standards, the process requires the participation and collaboration of the entire eco-system.
Farmers are at the heart of implementing sustainable farming practices in coffee-growing regions. Governments play an enabling role by establishing appropriate policies and regulatory frameworks. Private-sector companies, such as Simexco and Nestlé, drive on-the-ground solutions and responsible sourcing practices.
At the same time, sustainability organizations such as GRI contribute to the development of consistent reporting frameworks and standards, while scientists provide research-based knowledge and technical solutions to support the transition.
Connecting these stakeholders creates a foundation for economic, environmental, and social objectives to be implemented in an integrated manner across the value chain.
Simplifying Compliance to Enable Businesses to Drive the Green Transition
One of the key proposals shared by Simexco during the discussion was the need to simplify compliance tools, making them more accessible, understandable, and practical for businesses to apply.
This is particularly important for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Intuitive tools designed around real-world business conditions can help companies proactively meet sustainability requirements while gradually aligning with international reporting frameworks.
According to Simexco, when sustainability requirements become more accessible, businesses will be better equipped to take proactive action and scale up the green transition across their supply chains.
